The Never Ending Road
His Own Man
It’s been a good long run since Mitch Cunningham left his job as a superintendent of a construction company to start his own business back in 2014. In the beginning, there was just one truck, a small one room office and a lot of moxie. Since then, Seven Sons Trucking has grown over time to expand from two locations in Olathe, Kansas to an additional truck repair facility in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Specializing in dry van, flatbed and drop trailer freight, Seven Sons has also added truck repair services to their growing offerings. This is a family business built on delivering the goods on time and on budget.
Pedal To The Metal
Mitch has been able to identify pent up demand for logistical services in the marketplace and offers a variety of quick, dependable transport solutions to his expanding customer base. Edging out rivals by delivering quality customer service, competitive pricing and on-time deliveries adds value and encourages return business.
In addition to traditional dry van and flatbed services, drop trailer shipping adds capacity to his customer’s supply chain. Trailers can act as an extra storage space for companies and give businesses the ability to scale up and move freight without the additional cost normally associated with expanding storage.
Being able to offer truck and trailer repair plus road side service helps Seven Sons further diversify their offerings and grow their business. Their commercial truck service facilities are outfitted with the equipment and tools necessary for both maintenance and repair work. From small companies with a few vehicles or large companies with bigger fleets, the experienced technicians at Seven Sons can handle most repairs quickly and efficiently to keep their customers up and running.
Being able to deliver the goods required an ever expanding fleet of trucks, trailers and skilled work force. Traditional bank financing wasn’t able to provide the kind flexible equipment funding Mitch needed to jump start his fledgling business. He needed a financial partner who understood his business goals, potential for growth and had faith in his organization. Enter Commercial Capital Company. Mitch’s no-nonsense, straight talk laid out his strategy for expansion. Family is a significant part of his story and a driving force behind his efforts to establish a successful trucking business. Commercial Capital realized the potential of Mitch’s value proposition and funded his initial purchase of two trailers. This was the beginning of a strong and long lasting relationship that continues to this day. Seven Sons has grown to 75 trucks and nearly one hundred trailers with no end in sight.
Looking forward, Commercial Capital has been able to turn uncertainty into opportunity by listening to clients and providing them with flexible financing solutions that help their small businesses succeed.
